Rangsan to coach Police until 2023

Coach Rangsan Vivatchaichok has renewed his contract with Thai League 1 side Police Tero for the next two years.

Police Tero, currently in preparation for the Thai League 1 kick-off, announced yesterday that they have extended Rangsan's contract, keeping the coach at the club until end of the 2022/2023 season.

After renewing the contract with the club, Rangsan said: "The make-up of the team for the new season will not be different from the previous one as the team has limited resources.

"The policy of the team is to blend the old and new players together, and our style of play will continue to be attack-based.

"I want to help Police Tero have good results in the new season."

"For the quota of Asean players, there is only Malaysian defender Dominic Tan because the Asean players demand high salaries and the team cannot afford them," added Rangsan.

"In all, we will have five foreign players in the team -- three under international players' quota, one Asian player and one Asean."

Rangsan became the head coach of Police Tero during the 2018 season when they dropped to Thai League 2.

However, he helped the team earn promotion from the second tier to the top league in the next season and the club finished in 11th place in the top flight standings at the end of the coronavirus-hit 2020 season.

Police Tero will open the season by taking on Port during the Sept 3-5 weekend. The venue and the actual date for the game will be announced later.
