Benyapa, Nuntakarn book berth in women's doubles

Busanan Ongbamrungphan and Supanida Katethong advanced to the women's singles final of the BWF India Open in New Delhi on Saturday.

Second seed Busanan defeated Aakarshi Kashyap of India 26-24, 21-9 to progress to the title match of the US$400,000 World Tour Super 500 event.

Busanan will face fellow Thai Supanida who beat top seed Pusarla V Sindhu 21-14, 13-21, 21-10 in Sunday's final.

Earlier, fourth seeded Benyapa Aimsaard and Nuntakarn Aimsaard booked their berth in the women's doubles decider following a 21-12, 21-9 win over Haritha Manazhiyil Harinarayanan and Ashna Roy of India.

They will play third seeds Anastasilia Akchurina and Olga Morozova, who received a walkover in their semi-final against fellow Russians Ekaterina Malkova and Anastasiia Shapovalova.

Meanwhile world champion Loh Kean Yew made it to the men's singles decider after his semi-final opponent Brian Yang pulled out of the tournament. The fifth seed from Singapore will face Indian third seed Lakshya Sen, who rallied to defeat Ng Tze Yong of Malaysia 19-21, 21-16, 21-12.

In the mixed doubles event, third seeds Chen Tang Jie and Peck Yen Wei upset fellow Malaysians and top seeds Tan Kian Meng and Lai Pei Jing 21-19, 21-23, 21-14.

They will meet Singapore's Terry Hee Yong Kai and Tan Wei Han who received walkover win against Rodion Alimov and Alina Davletova of Russia.
