Leaders Buriram United's six-game winning streak came to an end in a bizarre 2-2 draw at Police Tero on Wednesday night when three were goals scored in stoppage time.

In the dramatic last few minutes of the encounter at Boonyajinda Stadium, the home team were reduced to 10 men on the pitch as Chalermsak Akkee was handed a red card after a VAR consultation for handling the ball inside the box.

Buriram broke the deadlock in the 71st minute when Supachai Chaided set up Peeradol Chamratsamee for a volley.

Arthit Bootjinda tied the score for Police in the third minute of added time.

Jonathan Bolingi converted a penalty to help Buriram regain their edge only to see Arthit grab his second goal with a sizzling header to deny the visitors three points.

Buriram coach Masatada Ishii said after the game: "It's a pity that we could not pick up a win here. We made mistakes towards the end of the match. We have to look forward to the next game now."

Police Tero coach Rangsan Viwatchaichok said: "One point from this game is very valuable for our team. I only have praise for my players for showing such fighting spirit."

In the other two matches on Wednesday night, Bangkok United rediscovered their form to defeat Samut Prakan City 2-0 at home.

At Chiang Mai 700th Anniversary Stadium, bottom-placed hosts Chiangmai United suffered another loss, going down to Suphanburi 2-1.
