Pereira promises results as Dragons present coach

Bruno Pereira was unveiled as coach of struggling Thai League 1 side Ratchaburi yesterday.

"I am very happy to be here to coach Ratchaburi. I will work hard for the target that the team is expecting," the Portuguese coach said.

"I hope to create good results for the team. I am very impressed with the way that the team is run. I believe I can make the team better."

The Dragons parted ways with Somchai Maiwilai recently and had been without a coach for a few weeks before they appointed Pereira.

They are 13th in the league, one place above the relegation zone.

Pereira has worked with several Middle East clubs including Al-Nahda (Saudi Arabia), Al-Mojzel (Saudi Arabia), Al-Seeb (Oman) and Al-Nasar SC (Oman) before coming to Thailand.

Ratchaburi advanced to the League Cup quarter-finals yesterday after beating Police Tero 1-0 with Montree Promsawat scoring the winner after 20 minutes.

Rabbits, Sharks advance

Thai League 1 champions BG Pathum United reached the League Cup quarter-finals after beating Krabi 5-0 yesterday.

Nattaphon Worasut and Diogo Luis Santo each scored two goals for the Rabbits with Sumanya Purisai adding the other.

Chonburi striker Dennis Murillo was on target twice in the final minutes as the Sharks defeated Muang Loei 3-1 in the last 16 round.

T1 club Prachuap finished off second-tier side Chainat 3-1.

Also, Bangkok United hammered Khon Kaen United 3-0 and Uthai Thani defeated Nongbua 2-0 after extra-time.
