Mickelson's bid to elude controversy

It was reported that at a PGA Tour players' meeting recently, tour commissioner Jay Monahan told the attending players that those who were considering to play in the Saudi-backed super league should walk out the door now.

Tensions are high and LIV Golf CEO Greg Norman's recent memo sent to players stating that in the eyes of the law, the PGA Tour's reported threats are utterly impermissible under competition and other laws has not helped.

His response came when the PGA Tour reportedly threatened players with a lifetime ban for anyone who plays in a Saudi-backed event.

Unfortunately, with Norman pointing out that the PGA Tour was on very shaky ground legally has not put him back on many Christmas card lists.

His scoring average is around 75 and he has won US$18,708.

It's still a mystery to me how such former fantastic players, who found the game so easy, now find the game so hard, especially when the courses on PGA Tour Champions are considered much easier than those on the PGA Tour.

He won the 1999 Players Championship, 2001 British Open, 13 tournaments on the PGA Tour and several various others worldwide.

There are only two possibilities for a player of such quality to struggle like this -- mental demons or injuries.
