Second-ranked strawweight contender Jarred Brooks will face No.1-ranked Bokang Masunyane at One: Eersel vs Sadikovic in Singapore on April 22 to determine who is next in line for a shot at Joshua Pacio's strawweight world championship.

Brooks, also known as "The Monkey God," is unbeaten on the global stage, adding two victories to his record of 18-2 with one no contest, since joining One, and he has been quite vocal about his position in the 56.7kg weight class.

"I think that I'm the best in the division no matter what. I mean you got to go out and prove things. But inside of my head and the way I see fight night, I do see my hand getting raised in a spectacular fashion. I'm definitely expecting a finish," the American said.

The Mash Fight Team athlete has taken out two of the top-five strawweight contenders so far in his One tenure.

He subdued Lito "Thunder Kid" Adiwang in the second round of his debut in the circle last year, and then went on to earn a decision win over Japan's Hiroba Minowa in January.

The wrestling expert utilised his ground game to perfection when competing, which has helped him bring home seven submission victories in his 18 wins.

While he believes Masunyane is a great competitor, Brooks seems sure that his No.1-ranked opponent will be no match for him when they square off in the circle.

"He's super athletic. He has a lot of great qualities that he has shown. But unfortunately, he hasn't really gone against anybody. He has good kicks, good wrestling, good conditioning. But he hasn't been tested. When a fist comes across the face, then we'll see how he reacts," he said.

"Little Giant" may not be as easy to get through as Brooks expects, however.

The South African star currently has an unblemished record of 8-0, and his latest bout saw him knock out former world title challenger Rene Catalan with a head kick just 37 seconds after the opening bell.
