Thailand will play India in the quarter-finals of the Uber Cup 2022 at Muang Thong Thani's Impact Arena in Nonthaburi today.

In the other last-eight match-ups, Japan take on Taiwan, South Korea face Denmark and Indonesia play defending champions China.

Thailand crushed Denmark 5-0 for their third straight win in the tournament on Tuesday night to finish as Group C winners.

In the final group ties yesterday, world champion Akane Yamaguchi of Japan suffered a shock defeat at the hands of a teenager ranked 333 in the world.

Indonesia's Bilqis Prasista, 18, beat the 24-year-old Japanese 21-19, 21-19.

"It's unbelievable. I could never imagine beating Akane Yamaguchi," Prasista, who was on cloud nine after her stunning victory, said.

"I just wanted to make her run and chase the shuttle so it was no fun for her. That was the key."

Japan still beat Indonesia 4-1 to top Group A as both teams qualified for the quarter-finals of the women's event.

Elsewhere, South Korea thrashed India 5-0 to top Group D with An Se-Young proving too good for PV Sindhu.

The world No.4 claimed victory in 42 minutes, 21-15, 21-14, over the seventh-ranked Sindhu.

The Koreans and India are also both in the last eight of the competition.

In other matches, Canada beat the United States 3-2 in a Group D clash while Germany edged France 3-2 in Group A.

Meanwhile, the Thai Thomas Cup team beat Singapore 3-2 in the final Group A tie. They lost their first two matches against South Korea and champions Indonesia.

Panitchaphon Teeraratsakul edged Joel Jia Wei Koh 14-21, 23-21, 21-11 in the decisive fifth rubber to take the tie. They both were eliminated.
