Tawanchai PK Saenchai put on a striking clinic against Niclas Larsen when they met in the main event at One 158: Tawanchai v Larsen in Singapore earlier this month.

The Thai star's performance earned him a second-round knockout win, as well as three additional rewards.

The first, and most important for the 23-year-old, was a shot at One featherweight Muay Thai world champion Petchmorakot Petchyindee's gold.

Tawanchai should be facing his compatriot sometime later this year, and he said he will be ready when the day comes.

"If I get to fight [Petchmorakot], I will train even harder -- two or three times harder. And all my focus is going to be on taking that belt away from him. And I know his game plan; I know who he is. I know how his game would be. I will read every step during the fight," he said.

The next reward the Bangkok resident received was a US$50,000 performance bonus from One chairman and CEO Chatri Sityodtong.

Tawanchai expertly manoeuvred around Larsen's tricky movement throughout their tussle and landed strike after strike, eventually wearing his opponent down.

The final blow came in the form of a devastating combination that left the Dane lying on the canvas, and this was all Chatri needed to be convinced to hand out the well-deserved bonus.

Last but certainly not least, it was announced last week that Tawanchai now sits on the top spot of One's featherweight Muay Thai rankings.

The victory at One 158 was the third finish for the striking dynamo on the global stage since his debut last year, and he has certainly tagged himself as the man to beat in the stacked division.

The previously No.5 ranked fighter jumped ahead of other featherweight phenoms like Superbon Singha Mawynn, Jimmy Vienot, Sitthichai Sitsongpeenong, and Jamal Yusupov to nab the No.1 spot.

Another weight class that saw a shift in its rankings was the bantamweight mixed martial arts division. Fabricio Andrade jumped up two places to replace Kwon Won-Il in No.2 spot.
