Bangkok United avoided a setback after a second-half strike from Vander Luis earned them a 1-1 draw with Port in a Thai League 1 battle last night.

Hamilton Soares converted a penalty for Port in the 40th minute after Suphan Thongsong fouled Fran Putros inside the box, but Willen Mota set up Vander Luis to equalise for the Angels near the 60-minute mark.

Port were left with 10 men when Suphanan Bureerat was sent off for a foul on Vander Luis in the 68th minute.

Also yesterday, Chonburi remained in the top spot after a 2-1 victory over Nongbua Pitchaya.

Channarong Promsrikaew (10 minutes) and Danilo Alves (79) scored for the Sharks while Jorge Fellipe (39) netted for Nongbua.

Ratchaburi defended an early goal from Alvin Fortes to beat visiting Lampang 1-0.

On Saturday night, BG Pathum United put on a superb show as they hammered Muang Thong United 3-0. All three goals were scored in the second half.

Police Tero shared a point with Lamphun Warriors following a goalless draw.

Former champions Chiang Rai United were held 1-1 at home by Sukhothai and hosts Nakhon Ratchasima beat Khon Kaen United 1-0.
