Thailand's Prayad Marksaeng won his 17th title on the Japan Senior Golf Tour with a five-shot victory at the PGA Senior Championship on Sunday.

The 56-year-old from Hua Hin fired a final-round 67 to win on 13-under 275 at the par-72 Summit Golf Club in Ibaraki.

Japan's Katsumasa Miyamoto (70) was second, five shots behind the Thai.

Thaworn Wiratchant, another Thai, was 18th on one-over 289.

It was the second major win for Prayad this year after he triumphed at the Japan Senior Open Golf Championship last month.

Prayad took home 10 million yen (approx 2.6 million baht) for his 17th win on Japan's over-50 circuit.

With the victory, Prayad moved up to the top of the money list with 37.61 million yen from in eight tournaments.

He has been crowned the Order of Merit winner in 206, 2017 and 2018.

Rahm reigns in Spain

Jon Rahm became the first three-time winner of the Spanish Open since Seve Ballesteros 27 years ago by cruising to a dominant six-shot victory in Madrid on Sunday.

The former world No.1 poured in eight birdies and an eagle in a brilliant nine-under-par 62 to finish well clear of second-placed Frenchman Matthieu Pavon.

The 27-year-old, who also won the tournament in 2018 and 2019, is only the second three-time champion of the tournament since it became a European Tour event, after Spanish great Ballesteros.

He finished 25-under for the week, having only led by one stroke from Australia's Min Woo Lee overnight.
