Although BG Pathum United beat Khon Kaen United 2-0 on Sunday night, their coach Makoto Teguramori said the Rabbits need to improve several things if they are to challenge for the Thai League 1 title.

Thailand striker Teerasil Dangda opened the scoring for the Rabbits from the penalty spot after 29 minutes, and Pathompon Charoenrattanapirom made it 2-0 four minutes later.

Just before half-time, BG's Apisit Sorada was sent off after receiving his second yellow card.

Pathum are in fourth place on 17 points, six behind leaders Buriram United, after nine games.

"We are in the chasing pack and we have to try to get three points in every match," said Teguramori.

"There are several things that we have to improve.

"If we play like this in every game, we won't last the distance."

Kirins back Gjurovski

Muang Thong United's woes continued on Sunday when they lost 2-1 to Police Tero.

The Kirins are now just two points above the relegation zone.

Following the loss, coach Mario Gjurovski said in a social media post that he had offered to resign earlier this month to shoulder responsibility for the team's poor run.

But Muang Thong chief Wiluck Lohthong said on Monday he knew nothing about this and that he had not discussed the matter with Gjurovski.

"I can confirm that we still support Mario to continue as our coach," Wiluck said.
