ONE lightweight kickboxing world champion Regian Eersel established himself as a fearsome opponent right from the start of his time in ONE Championship.

The Dutch-Surinamese superstar's ruthless striking has pushed him to a perfect 6-0 record inside the circle, and his striking could now potentially earn him a second world title.

He takes on Thailand's Sinsamut Klinmee for the inaugural ONE lightweight Muay Thai world championship at ONE Fight Night 3: Lineker v Andrade in the Axiata Arena in Kuala Lumpur tomorrow.

Eersel's upcoming opponent will make his road to double-gold difficult, given that he has scored back-to-back knockouts inside the circle.

But "The Immortal" is determined to win the belt for his homeland and the people who have helped get him to where he is.

"I will be writing history if I also win the Muay Thai world title. It will be so important for my [home] country Suriname, for the people, and for my team. This is history making, and if I am the first one to make this happen, then this is for the history books," he said.

"When I am inside the circle, it is a different me. Someone else is in there, a monster, and I am going to haunt you. Then we will see who is the better guy."

Along with the coveted double-champ status, Eersel's jaw-dropping 19-fight win streak will also be on the line when he enters the circle for his co-main event battle tomorrow.

If he succeeds in his quest for a second belt, the 29-year-old powerhouse will join a unique group of fighters who have achieved the same. And this would help to cement his name among the best fighters that ONE has ever had.

Eersel is acutely aware of everything he has to lose when he squares off with his Thai rival, and he made it clear that he isn't going to give it up without a fight.

"I don't like to lose. I want to build my name, my legacy. The only way I can build my legacy is by having good fights and good wins against the best guys," he said.

AIS Play will show live the event from 7am tomorrow, while Thai Rath TV32 will air a same-day delay at 10.30pm.
