Ratchaburi piled more pressure on new BG Pathum United coach Matt Smith with a 3-0 thrashing in Thai League 1 on Sunday night.

Sittichok Kannoo scored twice in the 33rd and 49th minutes and Jirawat Thongsaengphrao completed the rout after 72 minutes.

The victory sent the Dragons to second place on 29 points, seven behind runaway leaders Buriram United.

Smith has one win and two defeats in the league after succeeding Makoto Teguramori a couple of weeks ago.

Ratchaburi coach Xabi Mario said after Sunday's match that he was not thinking about winning the title at the moment.

"I am very happy with the win. Everybody helped each other and worked hard for the team," he said.

"It is still too early to talk about winning the title. We will take it on a match-by-match basis."

Ratchaburi will visit Buriram on Friday and Mario admitted that it would be a tough game for his men.

"Buriram are a very strong team. We will study how they play again before the match," he said.

After this weekend's round of matches, the league will take a break for the World Cup.
