A victorious weekend for Thai racer Sandy Kraokaew Stuvik saw him claim his third Thailand Super Series (TSS) Supercar GT3 overall drivers' championship at Chang International Circuit in Buri Ram.

Sandy and partner Akash Nandy's Audi R8 GT3 Evo II showed strong form in the final two races of the season at the weekend.

The Thai-Malaysian pair entered the final weekend of the championship with just five points ahead of their closest rivals.

In the first race on Saturday, Akash took the wheel for the start.

He then claimed the lead and began building a gap on rivals.

The Malaysian drove to get an advantage of over 15 seconds. This meant when Sandy got into the car he was still in the lead.

The Thai crossed the line to claim victory in the race and the 25 points needed to seal his third TSS championship title.

In the second race on Sunday, Sandy started first and the duo finished in ninth position.

"I'm so happy to claim my third TSS title. It was an extremely difficult fight this year but I'm incredibly proud of the work my teammate Akash and myself put in. To be rewarded like this made every second worth it!" Sandy said.

"I have to thank all my sponsors and partners who continue to support my passion. On to next year!"

Sandy is supported by The Pizza Company, B-Quik, Audi Sport Asia, the Tourism Authority of Thailand and the Sports Authority of Thailand, among other firms and agencies.
