Back-to-back crowns for Korean star An

An Se-Young claimed her second title in as many weeks after winning the US$420,000 Indonesia Masters 2023 in Jakarta yesterday.

Korean third seed An fought back to defeat seventh seed Carolina Marin of Spain 18-21, 21-18, 21-13 and win the women's singles crown of the Super 500 event.

An won the India Open a week before the Jakarta tournament and was a finalist at the season-opening Malaysia Open. The Korean is the only player to have reached the title match at all three tournaments of the new BWF World Tour season.

An ended the 2022 season on a disappointing note after two group stage defeats at the BWF World Tour Finals in Thailand ruled her out of the knockout phase. An intensive training programme following that, in preparation for the upcoming campaign, has put the world No.2 back on track.

The men's singles crown went to Jonatan Christie who won an all-Indonesian clash against Chico Aura Dwi Wardoyo 21-15, 21-13.

China's Liu Shengshu and Zhang Shuxian claimed the women's doubles title after they beat Yuki Fukushima and Sayaka Hirota of Japan 22-20, 21-19.

China's Feng Yanzhe and Huang Dongping took home the mixed doubles title with a 21-15, 16-21, 21-19 victory over compatriots Jiang Zhenbang and Wei Yaxin.

Indonesia's Leo Rolly Carnando and Daniel Marthin won the men's doubles title after beating China's He Jiting and Zhou Haodong 21-17, 21-16.
