Meanwhile in yesterday's first round, South Korean world No.106 Su Jeong-Jang sealed a 6-3, 4-6, 6-3 win over No.121 Katie Boulter of Britain.

Ukrainian world No.136 Lesia Tsurenko needed two hours and 20 minutes to finish off Belgium's world No.97 Ysaline Bonaventure.

Tsurenko won an entertaining three-set marathon 6-3, 4-6, 6-4.

Chinese world No.81 Wang Xinyu had a light workout against Joanne Zuger of Switzerland, winning 6-2, 6-2 to cruise into the second round of the tournament.
