Jutatip Maneephan of Thailand Women's Cycling Team won the 70km first stage of the Women's Tour of Thailand 2023 in Rayong yesterday.

The Thai national cyclist crossed the finish line in 1:45.23 hours.

In the second place was Vietnamese cyclist Nguyen Thi That while Indonesia's Marenda Maghfirotika took the third.

Jutatip, who claimed the overall leader's yellow jersey, also won the first intermediate sprint.

Nguyen Thi That received the green jersey while Maghfiroka took the purple jersey as the best Asean rider.

Indonesia are on top in the team classification with a time of 5:16.09 hours. South Korea and Thailand Women's Cycling Team were second and third respectively.

"First of all, I would like to thank my friends and teammates for helping me to win the stage. Thank you coach for trusting me continuously," said Jutatip.

"For the second stage tomorrow, I have to plan again of how to ride.

"The Tour of Thailand is a rehearsal for the SEA Games in Cambodia next month. We cannot underestimate anyone. We have to do our best," she added.

Today's second stage starts and finishes at Rayong main stadium. The 82.20km race begins at 9am.

The three-day race, covering a total distance of 241.20km, ends tomorrow.
