Thailand were held to a 2-2 draw by Taiwan in a warm-up match in Kaohsiung last night.

Each side scored an own goal as Thailand squandered numerous chances at Kaohsiung National Stadium.

Thailand's Kritsaka Kaman sent the ball into his own net in the 48th minute and Teerasil Dangda equalised for the War Elephants after 62 minutes.

Taiwan's Wang Ruei scored an own goal in the 84th minute and his teammate Chen Ting-yang made it 2-2 three minutes later.

Thailand coach Mano Polking fielded a strong side featuring midfielders Chanathip Songkrasin and Supachok Sarachart.

The hosts were the better side early on with Spanish-Taiwanese midfielder Emilio Estevez causing trouble for Thailand defence and goalkeeper Patiwat Kammai.

Patiwat was forced to make a save from an Estevez free-kick in the 17th minute.

Teerasil also had a couple of scoring chances but failed to beat Taiwan goalkeeper Pan Wen-chieh.

Thailand next play Hong Kong at Hong Kong Stadium on Monday.

Meanwhile, Indonesian fans of Lionel Messi expressed dismay yesterday after the star pulled out of a friendly in Jakarta, including one making a 12-hour boat and plane journey to the game who accused organisers of false advertising.

People rushed to snap up more than 60,000 tickets for the sell-out Monday clash between Indonesia and World Cup winners Argentina after Messi's face was plastered across advertising for the event.

But following days of speculation, fans in the football-mad country received bad news on Thursday that their hero would not play.
