Victories for Norasetthada, Aphisara

Norasetthada Boonma and Aphisara Srimongkol won the gold medals in the men's and women's junior keirin events in the Track Asia Cup 2023 at Suphan Buri Sports School in Suphan Buri yesterday.

Thai national cyclist Norasetthada crossed the finished line to win the men's junior keirin, followed by another Thai national cyclist Phetphanom Panmuang while the bronze medal went to Malaysian rider Zulfahmi Aiman Zulkurnain.

In the women's junior keirin event, Aphisara claimed the gold medal, followed by Kazakh cyclist Diana Kossolapova. Another Thai rider Natcha Songkhen took the bronze medal.

Yesterday's opening ceremony was presided over by Suphanburi governor Nattaphat Suwannaprateep and president of the Thai Cycling Association (TCA) Gen Decha Hemkrasri.

"Suphanburi is aiming to become one of the five main sporting cities, so thanks to TCA chairman Gen Decha Hemkrasri for letting Suphan Buri host many cycling events," said Nattaphat.

Fifteen teams from 11 countries are participating in the tournament.

There will be 10 gold medals on offer today.
