Midfielder Supachok Sarachart hopes to carry his J-League form to the Thai national side in this week's King's Cup tournament in Chiang Mai.

Supachok joined the national team on Monday after scoring two goals for Consadole Sapporo in a 4-0 win over Gamba Osaka in the Japanese top flight at the weekend.

"I now have confidence with Sapporo and I hope to bring my form from the J-League to the national team," Supachok said.

"We aim to win the King's Cup title although we will face teams with higher world rankings."

The War Elephants will be up against Lebanon in the first match after India take on Iraq at Chiang Mai's 700th Anniversary Stadium on Thursday.

The winners will meet in the final on Sunday when the losers face off in the third-place play-off.

Supachok said he was ready to play for Thailand.

"I don't have to adapt myself to the team because I have worked with coach Mano [Polking]," said the 25-year-old attacking midfielder. "I have also played with several players in the team.

"I can play in any position the coach tells me to play."

Polking's team arrived in the northern city on Monday.

"We have plans for the first game against Lebanon already," said the German-Brazilian coach.

"The King's Cup tournament is a good test for our team before the World Cup qualifying round.

"We hope to get good results from this tournament. I have not yet won the King's Cup since I was appointed coach of Thailand. So the target is to win the title."
