Pathum's disappointing run continues with Ulsan loss

BG Pathum United remained without a point after losing their fifth straight AFC Champions League Group I game to South Korea's Ulsan 3-1 at home last night.

Things didn't start well for the Rabbits as Jakkapan Praisuwan conceded an own goal in the 20th minute and the situation turned worse when Gustav Ludwigson doubled Ulsan's lead after 27 minutes.

Lee Myung-Jae added another to the visitors' tally and the writing was on the wall for Pathum United though they pulled one back through Igor Sergeev in the 69th minute.

Meanwhile Thai League 1 duo Bangkok United and Buriram United will be in action today.

League leaders Bangkok United will confirm their last 16 spot with a win over Lion City Sailors when the two sides meet in Group F.

The Thais sit comfortably on 10 points, four ahead of Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors and their Singapore opponents.

Having defeated Lion City Sailors 2-1 in the first match, Bangkok United will seek another win which will give them an unassailable lead at the top.

Lion City Sailor's only option is victory if they are to keep their last 16 hopes alive.

The Singaporean side are in a race with Jeonbuk to finish second, which may see them advancing as one of the three best runners-up from the East Zone.

Meanwhile Buriram and Zhejiang FC will bid to keep their campaigns alive when the two sides meet in Group H.

Buriram are in a slightly better position as they are third in the group on six points, one behind Ventforet Kofu of Japan and Australia's Melbourne City.

China's Zhejiang, who are at the bottom with three points but still have an outside chance of advancing, will be determined not to slip up at home.

Buriram will be fired up for the tie at the Huzhou Olympic Sports Center after stunning Melbourne United 1-0 in the fourth match.

Finishing on 12 points might just take Buriram through as one of the three best runners-up from the East Zone.
