Buriram United coach Arthur Papas breathed a sigh of relief as the Thunder Castle hammered Uthai Thani 4-0 in a Thai League 1 clash at home on Saturday night.

Supachai Chaided, recently ignored for selection to the national team, scored two goals and Peeradol Chamratsamee and Goran Causic added one each to the defending champions's total.

Papas was "very pleased" with his team's performance.

"These are the three points that the team needed," said the Australian coach.

"We had some players back from injury -- it's difficult for a team to play nine matches in one month."

Meanwhile, hosts Chonburi celebrated their first victory after five matches when they defeated Muang Thong United 2-1 on Saturday night.

Channarong Promsrikaew put the Sharks ahead in the second minute of the match but Jean Claude-Billong levelled the score on 23 minutes by heading home a Weerathep Pomphan corner.

The hosts got their second goal two minutes before the break when Willen Lira rifled home a loose ball.

Also on Saturday night, Sukhothai were upset 3-2 at home by Khon Kaen United.
