Like chess, it is forever challenging

The term 'average golfer' is often used but sometimes l wonder, what is the average golfer. I read somewhere that statistics show that the average male golfer shoots around 92. Personally, l find this hard to believe. Playing from stringent tees and holing every putt -- most golfers won't break 100.

Regarding aiming, laying a club on the ground will tell you very little. Perhaps the best way is to hold a club along the front of your thighs.

The great aspect of golf is that we can play until we drop, in fact a senior golfer probably gets more enjoyment out of the game than they did when they were young, because the deeper you get into golf, the more you learn to value the joy of being outdoors in beautiful surroundings and the intricacies of the game. Like chess, golf is a game that is forever challenging yet can never be conquered.

As a golfer grows older waist trouser sizes increase and take its toll on the eyesight, muscles, and flexibility. Physical condition is immensely important and every effort should be made to maintain our ability to walk around the course and not use a cart excessively. There are many ways an ageing golfer can continue to score as well as when young, or perhaps score better due to wisdom of age and the new equipment that's now available.
