Bangkok United coach Totchtawan Sripan has admitted that his men had "some luck" in their 2-1 victory over his former club Muang Thong United in an away Thai League 1 game on Friday night.

The Kirins went one in front when Jaroensak Wonggorn found the net in the 56th minute, but the league-leading Angels sealed the win with goals from Everton Goncalves after 74 minutes and Willen Mota in added time.

The game kicked off the second leg as the league hostilities resumed after a month-long break.

Totchtawan, who took Muang Thong to their last top-flight title in 2016, said: "It was a tough one as it was the first match of the second leg.

"Muang Thong looked different from the first leg in this game.

"At first, we thought they would play an attacking game but they packed their defence since start.

"We controlled the game in the second half but it was tough making inroads.

"They had prepared well for the game and in fact we had some luck late in the match and got three points."
