Pathompol Charoenrattanapirom grabbed the winner to end third-placed Port's three-game winless run with a 1-0 home victory over Sukhothai in a Thai League 1 game on Tuesday night.

A Jaturapat Satthum cross from the left landed at the feet of Pathompol in the 40th minute and he made no mistake from point-blank range to seal three points for Port.

Port's assistant coach Choketawee Promrat welcomed the win and hailed it as "very important three points for the team".

"We had to rotate as we have a long list of injured players and there are some suspensions as well," said Choketawee.

"We wasted lots of chances and are lucky to have picked up three points from this game."

Meanwhile, Brazilian duo of Derley and Samuel Rosa delivered the goods for hosts PT Prachuap, who edged Trat 2-1.

The Killer Wasps suffered a blow in the 16th minute when Pawee Tanthatemee was sent off for elbowing a Trat player, but they soldiered on.

Prachuap took only three minutes to recover from the setback as Derley quickly put them in the lead. They doubled their lead at the half-hour mark when Samuel Rosa found the net.

Trat pulled one back through a Daizo Horikoshi strike one minute later but their efforts to find the equaliser did not come to fruition.

Trat were also reduced to 10 men when Chiraphong Raksongkham picked up his second yellow card a few minutes before time.
