Nguyen Thi That of Vietnam national team retained the overall leader's yellow jersey for the second successive day after winning the second stage of Women's Tour of Thailand 2024 on Tuesday at Sukhothai Historical Park in Sukhothai.

Nguyen, who also won the opening stage on Monday, sprinted to the finish line in two hours 28 minutes and 25 seconds to win the 95.50km second stage ahead of Thai national cyclist Jutatip Maneephan of Thailand Women's Cycling team and Nur Aisyah Mohamad Subir of Malaysia national team.

Nguyen, who also won the stage's Best Asean Rider award, was the overall leader in 5:19.40 hours. Second-placed Jutatip was seven seconds behind and third-placed Claudia Marcks of Bikewheels.com.au Cycling team was 18 seconds behind.

The Vietnamese cyclist was also best overall Asean rider, keeping the purple jersey for the second successive day.

Malaysia national team, who won the second stage in 7:25.15 hours, were overall leaders in 16:00.06 hours, followed by Bikewheels.com.au Cycling team in 16:00.15 hours and Thailand Women's Cycling team in 16:00.15 hours.

Wednesday's third and final stage, covering a distance of 61.30km, starts at 10am from Bueng Sam Phan in Sukhothai and finishes at Si Thep Historical Park in Phetchabun.

The winner will receive the Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn's Cup.

The race will be broadcast live on Thai PBS's Facebook page and YouTube channel from 9.30am onwards.
