Three Thai students took first prize at the Robocup Japan Open 2024, beating out over 400 other contestants from across Asia.
Students from Khon Kaen University Demonstration School, including 10th graders Siwachanat Saengsuwan and Wachirawit Arayasatjapong and 11th grader Fasai Jasmin Fuengchan, earned the honour as a team they dubbed “Dinonaut”.
The Robocup Japan Open 2024, the 19th iteration of the international robotics competition, took place at Shiga Daihatsu Arena in Otsu between April 27 and 30. More than 400 competitors from Thailand, Japan, Malaysia, Taiwan, China and other countries participated in the event, which adheres to the World Robocup 2024 rulebook.
The Thai team qualified for the competition after winning first prize at the Thailand Open Robotics Competition 2024 (Logistics). They were granted access to the KMITL Robotics and AI team of King Mongkut’s Institute of Technology Ladkrabang in preparation for the games in Japan.
All three students are members of the Satit KKU Robot & AI Club at Khon Kaen University Demonstration School, which operates under the oversight of the Faculty of Education at Khon Kaen University.
