Buriram United have appointed Osmar Loss Vieira as their new head coach to lead the northeastern giants' bid for a fourth straight Thai League 1 title.

The Thunder Castle have already reached an agreement with the Brazilian coach to take over the reins of the team, the club announced on Wednesday.

The 48-year-old Osmar is among one of the highly regarded coaches in Brazil.

He started his coaching career with EC Juventude in 2009 before managing the Corinthians U20 team from 2013-2015.

He was then promoted as an interim coach of the Corinthians first team in the 2017-2018 season.

His coaching career has seen him perform a variety of roles at many Brazilian clubs, including Guarani FC, EC Vitoria, SC Internacional and Cianorte PR.

In the 2022-2023 season, Osmar moved to work with the Persepolis in Iran as an assistant coach and was promoted to the position of the head coach last season.

He helped Persepolis win the Persian Gulf Pro-League, which is the top tier of Iranian football.
