Golfers Lee Westwood and Sergio Garcia will lead a group of former top footballers to compete in the Reignwood Icons of Football in March next year.
The event, which will be held between March 1-2, 2025 at Robinswood Golf Club in Pathum Thani, is a collaboration between Reignwood Park and The Icons Series.
The Icon Series, which brings together the world's top athletes to compete in a golf tournament, have been held in many countries around the world such as the United States, the United Arab Emirates and England.
The March event in Thailand will be the first in Southeast Asia.
The competition will be played in a match-play format between Team England and Team World, with 12 players on each team.
English golfer Westwood will take on the role of captain for Team England while Spanish star will skipper Team World.
The first set of players for Team England includes Westwood, Paul Ince, Robbie Fowler, Joe Hart, Theo Walcott and Paul Scholes.
The Team World, spearheaded by Garcia, will comprise Dwight Yorke, Patrick Berger, Gabriel Batistuta, Luis Figo and Peter Schmeichel.
The remaining six players of each team will be revealed later via the Icons Series Instagram account.
