Pornanong wins Thailand LPGA Masters title

Pornanong Phatlum sank a final-hole birdie to win by a stroke at the 1.5 million baht Thailand LPGA Masters at Panya Indra Golf Club on Friday.

One shot behind leader Thidapa Suwannapura after two rounds at the 54-hole tournament, the Chaiyaphum player made a final 70 with three birdies at the 15th, 17th and 18th holes and a lone bogey at the 13th to win on nine-under-par 207.

Thidapa, who likes Pornanong is an LPGA Tour member, finished second on 208 following her final 72.

Pornanong earned 260,000 baht while Thidapa got 151,130 baht. Pavarisa Yoktuan was third on 211 and received 95,696 baht.

Both Pornanong and Thidapa left for Canada yesterday to join the US$2 million Canadian Open this week.
