Mercedes and Ferrari display support for Schumacher

Mercedes' new look car for the 2014 Formula One season will display a message of support for seven-time World Champion Michael Schumacher, who remains in a medically-induced coma.

This handout picture released on January 27, 2014 by the Ferrari Press Office shows the team Ferrari posing in Jerez de la Frontera in support of German Formula One driver Michael Schumacher

The German legend is in critical but stable condition in a hospital in the Savoie region of France following a serious skiing accident last month.

The bodywork of the Mercedes W05 model will display the words "KeepFightingMichael," which has been used as a hashtag on the social networking site Twitter for fans to send their messages of support to the German.

Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg are the two Mercedes' drivers for the upcoming season.

Schumacher finished his Formula One career with Mercedes in 2012 after making a surprise return to the sport in 2010.

The driver won five of his championships with Ferrari and the Italian team also paid tribute to their stricken hero on Monday.

The outfit published a family style photo of their team on their website at the Jerez circuit in front of a banner reading "Forza Michael".

The 45-year-old has been in a coma since suffering the accident when skiing off-piste in the French ski resort of Meribel on December 29.
