Budsabakorn holds nerve to win Singha title

Amateur Budsabakorn Sukapan yesterday won the second leg of the Singha-SAT Thai LPGA Chapionship 2014.

Taking the lead after the first two rounds, Budsabakorn fired a final 71 to secure a victory on eight-under 208 at the par-72 Panya Indra Golf Clup.

The runner-up spot went to Pavarisa Yoktuan (71) and Kanphanitnan Muangkhumsakul (69), who finished a stroke behind the champion.

It was another good performance from the 16-year-old Budsabakorn, who also won the Thailand Amateur Championship here last year.

The Chiang Rai native, who made three birdies and one bogey in the final round, admitted Lady Luck had smiled at her.

While Budsabakorn took home the trophy, Pavarisa and Kanphanitnan received 60,900 baht each at the 500,000 baht tournament.

Naitonal player Sherman Santiwiwattanaphong closed with a 73 to finish fourth on 211 while Cyna Rodriguez came in fifth.
