Buriram win to extend lead at top

Buriram United yesterday extended their lead at the top of the Thai Premier League by defeating Singhtarua 2-0 at the I-Mobile Stadium.

Buriram ensured their title defence remained well and truly on track when they went ahead in the second minute, with Chitiphan Thanklang opening the scoring with a blistering shot.

In the second half, Argentinian David Rochela beat Singhtarua goalkeeper Chanin Sae-eia to double the lead and ensure Buriram remained in control.

The situation became even worse for Singhtarua when Predag Sikimic was booked for a second time and sent off.

Elsewhere, Suphanburi were forced to settle for just one point after they drew 1-1 against Chonburi.

Suphanburi went ahead through Bjorn Lindermann in the 18th minute before Chonburi equalised through Thiago Cunha just five minutes later.

The result allowed Chonburi to move up to second place with 55 points.

At Samut Songkhram stadium, Samut Songkhram thrashed Air Force Central 4-0.

Pimwit Thongthitiroj put Samut Songkhram ahead in the 38th minute before Milien Pascal scored a hat-trick in the 63rd, 73rd and 81st minutes to help the Mackerel claim three important points.

Although Samut Songkhram won, they are still anchored to the bottom of the table with just 15 points.

At Rayong stadium, Rayong claimed victory by beating Army United 2-1.

Thongchai Ponang and Kirati Kaewsombut scored for Rayong while Thanakorn Dangthong scored for Army.
