Bangkok Glass recovered from recent setbacks in style to thrash Navy 4-1 in the Thai Premier League yesterday and join Muang Thong United in second place.

The victory gave the Glass Rabbits 41 points from 20 matches, the same as Muang Thong who have a game in hand as their clash with Port yesterday was postponed to Sept 16 because of Bike for Mom activities. Both teams are three points adrift of leaders Buriram.

After dominating the midfield, Bangkok Glass got off the mark when Macedonian Darko Tasevski scored in the 18th minute.

Four minutes later, Bodin Phala exposed the lethargic Navy defence. He was not only allowed to hold onto the ball just outside the box but was accorded a full view of the goal as well. However, Bodin's goal came courtesy of Navy goalkeeper Surat Narkchumsang who let a straight drive slip through his gloves.

When Pakin Kaikaew scored the third in the 58th minute, the writing was on the wall for Navy.

Rodrigo Vergilio salvaged some pride for Navy in the 78th, but Bangkok Glass had more anguish in store for them as Pakin hit the mark again two minutes from time, converting an accurate cross from Daniel García Rodríguez.

In Saturday night's late match, Osotspa were hammered 4-2 by Bangkok United at home. Bangkok United scored through Jaycee Okwunwanne (1st and 44th minutes), Romain Gasmi (ninth) and Dragan Boskovic (15th), while Leandro Oliveira struck twice for Osotspa in the 13th and 45th.
