Kirins go top after 2-1 victory at Port

Muang Thong United took the Thai Premier League lead after a 2-1 win at Port last night.

Teerasil Dangda opened the scoring for Muang Thong after 41 minutes and Thitiphan Puangjan made it 2-0 in the 64th minute.

David Rochera cut the deficit to 2-1 with a spot kick in the 85th minute before his teammate Lee Ho was sent off for a second bookable offence.

The match was postponed from last month due to the Bike for Mom event.

At PAT Stadium, Port got off to a lively start with Wuttichai Tathong and Jirawat Makkrarom coming close to scoring.

But Thailand striker Teerasil broke the deadlock, and then turned provider as his pass found Thitiphan who scored the Kirins' second goal.

After 22 games, Muang Thong and Buriram United have 50 points but the Kirins have a better goal difference.

Port remain in 15th place, just one point above the relegation zone.

In the second half, Anootsara was on target again as Thailand took a 2-0 lead.
