In-form Pornanong claims Thai LPGA Masters crown again

World No.34 Pornanong Phatlum carded a final round 67 to win the PTT Thailand LPGA Masters 2015 by two shots yesterday.

As one of the two co-leaders going into the final round at the par-72 Panya Indra Golf Club in Bangkok, Pornanong lived up to her fans’ expectation when she closed with a 67 to win the three million baht event for the third straight time with a nine-under 207.

The 25-year-old from Chaiyaphum made the turn at 36 with two birdies and two bogeys and then had a late boost, firing an eagle at the 16th and birdies at the last two holes.

Budsabakorn Sukapan, who shared the lead with Pornanong after two rounds, came in second on 209 after scoring six birdies and three bogeys for a 69.

Three strokes behind was Sherman Santiwiwatthanaphong (70) at the season-ending event.
