Princess suffers acute pancreatitis

Her Royal Highness Princess Chulabhorn is developing intermittent and acute pancreatitis, the Royal Household Bureau has said.

According to the bureau's fourth statement involving the princess' admission to Vichaiyut Hospital, released yesterday, the princess had developed pancreatitis, which relapses from time to time and is becoming gradually more acute.

After undergoing a successful operation to remove a lump from her neck at the hospital on May 20, the princess still experienced muscle pains around the area that was operated on. This caused difficulties in moving.

The medical team has asked the princess to suspend official engagements and take time off from her duties for the time being.
