Two more bombs exploded in the centre of Hua Hin on Friday morning, wounding five more people, following blasts on Thursday night that killed one person and wounded seven foreigners and 13 Thais in the resort town.
Hua Hin Market Village, the town's largest shopping centre which also contains a Tesco Lotus hypermarket, evacuated customers and bolted its doors, according to a report by Thai Rath TV.
Police in Hua Hin asked the public to stay in their homes to ensure safety. A one-kilometre stretch of Phetkasem Road, the town's main thoroughfare, was sealed off by police.
Friday's explosions occured near the Hua Hin clock tower, a popular gathering place in the centre of the town, shortly after the conclusion of a Buddhist alms-giving ceremony held to celebrate Her Majesty the Queen's birthday and Mother's Day.
The ceremony ended at around 8am, and organisers were starting to clear the area when the first device exploded at around 9am.
Just moments later, a second bomb exploded nearby. Four men and a woman were injured in the blasts. Hospital officials said one was in critical condition. The woman has later been pronounced dead at the hospital.
Explosive ordnance disposal (EOD) officiers were able to destroy a third bomb found planted on a motorcycle parked in nearby Wat Hua Hin about 10am.
