The Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand will start over again with the environmental impact assessment (EIA) and environmental health impact assessment (EHIA) for the Krabi coal-fired power plant project as instructed by the prime minister, said governor Kornrasit Pakchotanon on Tuesday.
Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha on Monday ordered Egat to scrap its EIA and EHIA already in progress, and start afresh the assessments.
Mr Kornrasit said Egat had received a letter dated Feb 27 from the Office of the Policy and Planning about the prime minister's instruction.
Egat will start anew the assessments, with emphasis given to people's participation, he added.
Gen Prayut on Tuesday reiterated that he was trying to establish trust between state officials and the people.
