Temperatures to drop in upper Thailand

Another moderate high pressure zone has extended from China to cover the Northeast Region and South China Sea, and temperatures in upper Thailand will drop 1-3°C today and tomorrow, the Meteorological Department announced on Thursday.

There will be more rain in the South because the northeast monsoon across the lower part of the Gulf of Thailand has intensified. Rain is forecast for Chumphon, Surat Thani, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Phatthalung and Songkhla.

Waves in the lower part of the Gulf, from Surat Thani south, are expected to be 2-3 metres high with possible inshore surges. All vessels are advised to proceed with caution and small boats should stay ashore until March 4.

In Bangkok and surrounding Central provinces, the minimum temperatures are forecast at 25-26°C and maximum 35-37°C for the period Thursday to Friday morning.
