PHATTHALUNG -- A man has been arrested in Kongra district and a stash of methamphetamine pills, four military-grade weapons and ammunition seized from his house, police said.
Pol Lt Col Sirak Boonyok, a Muang district police investigator, said Isma-el Senyang, 30, was arrested with a Mitsubishi Triton pick-up truck near the city hall on Sunday morning.
T he arrest of Mr Isma-el followed information provided by Thirathat Srisuwan, 26, who was arrested with 1,993 meth pills a day earlier at his house on Apai Borirak Road in tambon Khuha Sawan of Muang district.
A search was later conducted at Mr Isma-el's house in tambon Khlong Sai Khao and a cottage behind the house.
The police found 8,767 methamphetamine pills, a 9mm pistol with 10 rounds of ammunition, one AK-47 assault rifle with 87 rounds, one M16 rifle with 47 rounds and one Uzi machinegun with 75 rounds.
Mr Isma-el was charged with possession off illegal drugs and illicit weapons.
