Bodyslam lead singer Artiwara “Toon” Kongmalai’s charity run topped 300 million baht in donations as he completed the 18th day of his 2,191-kilometres road marathon from Betong in Yala to Mae Sai in Chiang Rai.

The website kaokonlakao.com reported donation had surpassed 300 million baht on Tuesday afternoon as Toon reached the 801.80km mark, having spent 147 hours on the road passing through six provinces - Yala, Pattani, Songkhla, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Surat Thani and Chumphon.

Toon started his day at 4.35am leaving the PTT Gas station in Muang district of Chumphon. After the first stop, he was running in the rain on the second leg.

The popular rocker was scheduled to end his day, completing a distance of 50.4km, in Ban Bang Saphan Noi in Prachuap Khiri Khan this evening.

He and his team plan to reach the northernmost province of Mai Sai on Dec 25, running through 20 provinces.

The marathon aims to raise 700 million baht in donations for 11 state-run hospitals across the country, to be used to buy needed medical equipment.
