Six rangers hurt by Pattani bomb blast

PATTANI: Six members of a ranger patrol were hurt when a roadside bomb exploded as they went by in Nong Chik district on Wednesday morning.

The rangers and ranger volunteers were on board a pickup truck patrolling a road in tambon Bang Khao. The bomb detonated about 9.20am, said Pol Capt Ekkarat Jiacharoen, deputy investigation chief at Nong Chik police station.

The explosion wounded six members of the patrol. They were rushed to Nong Chik Hospital.

The rangers were patrolling the road ahead of police and explosive ordinance disposal officers going to inspect the torching of two security cameras out the front of Ban Saimor School in tambon Bang Khao. 

Police were investigating.
