A tattooed Hong Kong man fell to his death from a condominium in Bangkok’s Huai Khwang district late on Thursday night.

The incident was reported at around 10.30pm on Thursday.

Wearing only black shorts, the man with a full-back tattoo sustained head injuries, Thai media reported on Friday.

Police found the sliding glass door of a condominium room on the fourth floor was opened. They examined the room and found no traces of a struggle inside.

But they found a small stainless box containing white powder on the dining table in the room.

The man was a Hong Kong national, 40. His name was withheld pending notification of relatives.

Pol Col Theerasak Sriprasert, chief of Sutthisan police, told Thai media that the man had been staying alone in the room. Witnesses saw him standing on the balcony of his room before they heard a scream. Then they saw the man falling down.

Police initially believed the man might have accidentally fallen to his death. They would examine the white powder in the stainless box to find out what it is.

The body was sent to Ramathibodi Hospital for a post-mortem examination. His relatives would be contacted to pick up his body for religious rites.
