Laos to open checkpoint

Laos will open the Pang Mon checkpoint in Sayaboury province opposite Ban Huak checkpoint in Phu Sang district of Phayao on Feb 1.

The Sayaboury provincial governor has invited the Chiang Rai governor to lead a 15-member Thai delegation from Chiang Kham and Phu Sang district to attend the opening ceremony. Kovit Chaimuang, a member of the Phayao Chamber of Commerce, said the new checkpoint will help promote trade, investment and tourism.
