CRIME: A woman was killed and at least one person injured when a gunman opened fire at a Bangkok cosmetics clinic inside a shopping mall near Victory Monument yesterday afternoon.
The attack occurred at the Icon Clinic on the fourth floor of Century Plaza shopping mall on Phaya Thai Road at 3.22pm, police said.
A 28-year-old employee of the clinic died at the scene after being shot three or four times in the head and body. A female co-worker, 29, was injured and rushed to hospital with a gunshot wound.
Police have launched a manhunt for the attacker, who fled.
Police cordoned off the area and found seven spent 45-calibre cartridges scattered at the scene.
The dead woman was named as Piyanut Chatthai and the injured woman as Wilasinee Teepan.
Police said the prime suspect was Danusorn Numcharoen, a former boyfriend of the slain woman. Jealousy is thought to be the motive for the shooting.
