Singer-actress Lydia Sarunrat said on Monday she had caught coronavirus disease (Covid-19) from her infected husband, actor Matthew Deane, but both their children remained healthy.

Lydia, 32, wrote on her Instagram account that she had tested positive for the disease. She believed she contracted it from her husband Matthew, because she had not been out lately.

She said her son Dylan, 4, tested negative. She had not had their seven-month daughter Demi tested yet for fear of infection if she took her outside. Both children were happy, playful and healthy, she wrote.

"The most important thing in this time of crisis is to cope with it and keep on fighting. The most difficult thing is to say goodbye to the family and the children. I do not know how long I must leave without their parents' presence. But at least they have their grandparents," Lydia wrote.

On Friday Matthew, 41, announced he had caught Covid-19 and warned people who had been in close contact with him to get an examination.

Lydia said the symptoms began with nasal congestion, a cough and a fever on Friday.

She wrote that her husband no longer had a fever but had lung X-rays for his allergies and asthma. She also said it was difficult to find a hospital bed to get Covid-19 treatment.
