HM sends congrats to Biden

His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn Phra Vajiraklaochaoyuhua on Thursday sent a congratulatory message to the new President of the United States.

The letter reads:

The Honorable Joseph R. Biden Jr,
President of the United States of America, Washington, DC

On behalf of the people of Thailand, I have great pleasure in extending to you, Mr President, our heartfelt felicitations and best wishes on your Inauguration as the 46th President of the United States of America.

Your Inauguration, history will prove, marks the beginning of a new era of rebuilding and renewal -- both for the United States and the international community. Standing proud, with the integrity of her democratic institutions and constitutional process upheld, America is set to become once more united, under your leadership, to take on such a range of unprecedented challenges as the pandemic, the economy, the climate crisis and international security.

Thailand, as beneficiary of the oldest friendship the United States has with any Asian country spanning some 200 years, as well as a longstanding ally, is steadfast in our commitment to standing by the United States in facing those challenges. We are equally confident that, with your support and guidance, this time-honoured partnership can only grow stronger and closer, not only for the benefit of our two countries but also as a meaningful contribution to regional peace and stability.

(M.R.) Maha Vajiralongkorn R.
