51 more Covid infections found in Songkhla

SONGKHLA: Fifty-one new Covid-19 infections, four of them imported from Malaysia, were found in this southern border province on Sunday, increasing the provincial tally to 454, according to a press release from the provincial health office.

Of the accumulated total, one died, 10 have recovered and 443 are still being treated in hospital.

Hat Yai district had the highest number of accumulated Covid patients -- 356, most of them infected with the virus at entertainment venues, restaurants and during visits to relatives and friends in high-risk areas.

More infections were also reported on Sunday in other provinces -- including 32 in Chaiyaphum, 22 in Khon Kaen, 21 in Nakhon Ratchasima, 12 in Ayutthaya, 11 in Phatthalung and seven in Nakhon Phanom.

The provincial figures released today will be reflected in the national announcement by the Center for Covid-19 Situation Administration tomorrow.
