NARATHIWAT: Two rangers received minor wounds when a bomb exploded as they patrolled a road in Sungai Padi district of this southern border province on Monday afternoon, police said.

The attack occurred about 1pm on a road to Sue Dae village in tambon Sako.

A foot patrol from Ranger Company 4809 was nearing the village when a bomb concealed on the roadside was detonated by remote control.

Two rangers received minor wounds, Abdulhalim Chena and No-alam Kariya, and were admitted to Sungai Padi Hospital.

The scene of the explosion is about 2 kilometres from the operations base of Ranger Company 4809 at Ban Sako, the Moo 4 village, in tambon Sako.
